JEDI Executive Summary
This justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) audit assessed Botswanamark’s practices across communications, policies, supply chain, stakeholder relationships and product positioning as part of the B Corp certification. Because the business operates as a single-person enterprise, the audit applied a proportionate methodology aligned with expectations for micro-organisations. Evidence included a desktop review of communications, marketing and policies, review of existing accreditations and audits, a structured founder interview and targeted customer and supplier surveys.
We found that JEDI considerations are strongly embedded throughout the business model. Botswanamark’s brand, sourcing approach and stakeholder relationships are built around transparency, ethical supply chains and positive socio-economic impact in Botswana. Claims made in communications are supported by independent certifications, audit reports and third-party verification. One impact goal has not yet been met, and we have made recommendations to adjust and reposition this goal for greater transparency.
No material JEDI risks were identified. Improvement opportunities relate primarily to future transparency enhancements, measurement of business-specific impact, and continued monitoring as the business scales. Stakeholder feedback was uniformly positive, indicating that customers and suppliers experience the business as fair, respectful and ethical.
The audit therefore concludes that Botswanamark demonstrates a credible and proportionate approach to JEDI consistent with B Corp standards for organisations of its size. Overall, Botswanamark can be considered a positive role model from a JEDI perspective, with strong alignment between stated values and actual practice.
